Alla Vovk is a researcher and user interface designer who believes in multi-disciplinary research and industry-academia collaboration. Mixing scientific approach with personal narratives, she creates transformative, participatory and bodily AR experiences for training. Conventionally trained as a journalist, she claims storytelling as her native language and craft in art practice.
As a PhD student in Computer Science at the Performance Augmentation Lab, her goal is to reconfigure spatial interaction with physical world for empowering human learning and training. Alla has also worked as an Interaction Designer and AR developer on projects for Altec Space and Norwegian Air Ambulance. As an HCI researcher, Alla has worked in institutions including VTT, ALTEC, EBIT, and presented her research at international conferences including CHI and EC-TEL.
